A few months ago, a friend of mine mentioned that there is an amazing reciprocal agreement between museums and attractions in Portland, OR for 2015, but it has taken me weeks to track down any official information about it. Now that I have, I am excited to share it with you!
Each month in 2015, admission to one of the following museums is free (for up to three guests accompanying the membership holder) so long as you have a current membership to one of the other attractions on the reciprocal agreement list. So, for example, if you currently have an Oregon Zoo membership you are welcome to use it for admission for up to four people at any of the other museums during a specific month. Here is a list of participating attractions along with the month they are accepting alternate memberships:
January – Portland Japanese Garden
February – World Forestry Center
March – Oregon Historical Society
April – Lan Su Chinese Garden
May – Washington County Museum
June – Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks & Minerals
September – Portland Children’s Museum (adults not allowed without a child)
November – Oregon Zoo
December – Historic Deepwood Estate
The purpose of this arrangement is to increase access to these local attractions for many more people, as well as to show appreciation for the participating venues and the important roles they play within the community.
