Wisdom Sits In Places

The author of this post, Emma Branigan, has asked that it be removed from the blog for personal reasons. Thanks for your understanding!

  1. Hi Emma, Thanks for these wise words and the reminder to value both nature as teacher and natural learning. Our instincts tell us this is right but doubts can get in our way. I’ve lived in Portland since I was 20 but once I started homeschooling and meeting up with others I discovered so many riches in this area that I’d never heard of as well as so many we’d never made time to explore. Look forward to meeting you soon. Lindy and Dominic (7) NE Portland

  2. I have had Charlotte Mason on my ‘must research’ list, and this post just bumped it up to the top. What beautiful pictures–thanks for sharing.

  3. Thanks! I enjoyed writing this and thinking it through. I am cringing inwardly at discovering a couple of typos, but maybe those can be fixed a little later? Thanks for giving me the opportunity Lindsey. 🙂

  4. I know that after reading your post, and discussing it together, Alison and I would love to discuss this further with you and anyone else in the group who is interested in the idea of a co-op. We have 4 year old twins and are at the beginning of the journey but really appreciate the guidance and experience of those already on the road.

  5. What a fantastic and inspiring post, thank you for sharing. Learning is all around us, and we certainly don’t have to sit in a classroom all day/5 days a week to do it. Thanks for the reminder!

  6. My family is in the anxiety-inducing throws of contemplating a move to the Portland area, and this post was exactly what I needed to read today! The thought of starting over on finding the right homeschool co-ops, playgroups, and extracurriculars for my daughters is my biggest worry. Thanks for sharing your experience and your lovely photos!!
